Haiku

Back in October of 2005, I went on a photography expedition to Mammoth in California. This week-long trip was taught by a professional fine art photographer.  Along with two other friends, we spent the week exploring the area, taking loads of photos, and just having a great time. I picked some of my favorite photos and then wrote haiku poems to go with the photos. The result became "The Little Book of Mammoth Haiku." (Yup, pun intended.) I printed a couple of copies of the book and had fun hand-binding them. They became gifts for the expedition participants.

Here, then, are a few select pages out of the book. Enjoy!

The moon on her stage

And with her clear bright light

She sings you to sleep

Lonely bridge of stone

In the faraway mountains

A reflection, your friend

Infinite blue sky

Deeply azure mountain lake

Who is the greater?

Bright yellow fall leaves

Tall cottonwood trees, and me,

insignificant
